Imagine a man who is well known in the international corporate world to lose in the betting and become flight attendant. More interestingly, the man, the owner of Virgin airlines, Richard Branson will be a flight attendant for a local budget airline, AirAsia for about 13 hours.
The British tycoon, founder of the Virgin group, plans to honour his cross-dressing bet on May 1, by dressing up in full AirAsia stewardess regalia on a flight from London’s Stansted Airport to the Low Cost Carrier Terminal in Sepang, Kuala Lumpur.
The flamboyant businessman had previously lost a bet to AirAsia’s chief Mr Tony Fernandes, on which of their F1 teams would finish higher in the 2010 World Championship. After the F1 race in 2010 to close the curtain end of last year, Team Lotus managed to overcome the Virgin team.
This latest date comes after he had to delay his flight attendant debut in January, after accidentally breaking his leg.
“Richard has to deliver on this bet, and the latest I have heard, without him breaking his legs anymore, is May 1 – which is just after the royal wedding. So he may be borrowing the new princesses wedding dress and then changing into an AirAsia stewardess outfit, but the last information I got and an announcement will be made soon is that he will be flying London-KL in May,” said Mr Tony Fernandes, group CEO for AirAsia.
Public who wish to experience the party entertained by the famous aviation figures can book the tickets now.
The flight scheduled to depart in the evening at 4 pm from the airport in London, and is expected to arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 12 noon the next day.
All money raised from this ticket sales will be used for charitable purposes.
