Recently I’ve messing-up myself with Linux operating system (OS)… to be exact, it’s Ubuntu. Yeah, I can’t stop myself to test and feeling this great OS. It’s long time enough for me and most of us using Microsoft’s OSes (Windows family)… I didn’t know about your experience, but myself was used it since it released of Windows 3.1 (I’m really wonder was there any Windows 1 or Windows 2 ???). Currently I’m still using Windows XP version (the most successfull OS as claimed by Microsoft and its fan). Eventhough there is Windows Vista, the latest from Microsoft which looks more atractive than XP, but it still can’t beat XP.
Ooopp! I want to tell you about Ubuntu not Windows… So, last week I’ve successfully installed Ubuntu into my laptop. I chose to make my laptop dual-boot system which can run with either Ubuntu or Windows XP. Thus, if I need Windows (especially for company works), I can operate my laptop with Windows XP.
I’ve install Ubuntu latest version, 8.04 or wellknown as Hardy Heron. Installation process really a breeze… eventhough I install it on portable USB hard disk, the steps were really simple, clear and very fast.
So, I’m now getting myself busy testing and get familiar with Ubuntu. Unfortunately, my internet line at home is down right now, so I can’t update my Ubuntu. If you want read more about Ubuntu or give Ubuntu a test run, you can read and download it Live CD (which enable you experience it without installing on hard disk) at http://www.ubuntu.com/. I’ll give detail how I installed Ubuntu into my USB hard disk on future post.
Here is one of video from YouTube that make me so excited to use Ubuntu.
